About Acrylic Block |
Acrylic Blocks are an innovative, lightweight alternative to old fashioned glass blocks. Acrylic Block Technology Hy-Lite is the originator of acrylic blocks and acrylic block products, and is the only manufacturer of acrylic block products in the United States. Our acrylic blocks are proudly manufactured in our Pensacola, Florida U.S.A. manufacturing plant by American workers. Acrylic blocks are injection molded and heat welded using architectural-grade acrylic resin, and are available in a variety of sizes and styles. Each block has one or two air gaps in the center for greater insulation, helping keep homes warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. Acrylic Blocks in Windows Acrylic blocks used in window systems are assembled using block flanges or H-clips depending upon the window type. The blocks are then sealed to each other using a special seam seal, and then glazed into a vinyl frame. Loose Acrylic Blocks Acrylic blocks are sold loosely in cases of 24 or 36 through dealers. Loose acrylic blocks are frequently used on the sets of movies and television shows due to their light weight and easy configuration. Loose Blocks for Crafting Craft Blocks are sold individually or in cases of 24, with each block measuring 8"x8"x3". Craft Blocks feature a 1-1/2" drilled hole at the top with a rubber stopper. The lightweight nature of Craft Blocks has made them a popular alternative to glass blocks for crafting with children and people with limited hand strength or dexterity.
