When James Dulley decided to renovate his garage recently he knew exactly what he wanted --- and didn't want --- as part of the renovation.
Dulley, a Harvard-educated mechanical engineer and residential energy conservation expert, wanted privacy and security to keep potential nosy people passing by his garage from seeing the vintage cars he was restoring. And, since he lives in Ohio, he didn't want cold air leaking in through his window during frigid winter months.
"A Hy-Lite operable acrylic block window solved both of my concerns," says Dulley. "The original window in my garage was an aluminum single-hung, double-pane window. It wasn't very secure and leaked quite a lot of outdoor air.
"I started restoring classic Jaguar cars and needed a privacy window that was more secure and provided privacy. The Hy-Lite casement window was definitely the best option for security, privacy and ventilation when needed. I work on the car restorations quite a bit during the winter months, so keeping the garage warm enough to work was a consideration. Again, the Hy-Lite window helped meet my goals."
According to Dulley, he's so pleased with the acrylic block window that he's happy to share his testimonial with others. "I'm very satisfied with the Hy-Lite window," says Dulley. "I'd recommend it to anyone looking for privacy, security and energy efficiency."
